Decorating for the Holidays

Thursday, October 9th
7:00 p.m.
First Congregational Church, Rte 189, Granby, CT
A designer from our local Granby florist, Flowers-N-Such, will come to
teach us about decorating with flowers for the holidays. She will make
a centerpiece and then donate it to be raffled!
----------------------------------------------------------
We
enjoyed a great talk at September Meeting.
James Little, from CT Forest and
Park Association, spoke to us about the Blue-Blazed Hiking Trail System
in CT. Visit their
new website for lots of information
and get outside in this beautiful fall weather!
Our
FIRST fundraiser will be Dream Dinners at the West Hartford store.
It will run 10/15 - 11/15. For those who are not familiar, it is
a place where you go & prepare meals to store in your freezer for
quick meal prep. Go to www.dreamdinners.com;
select menus and sessions, then dinners and sessions, then choose West
Hartford, CT. Then select the OCT menu & pick a date (10/15 or
later). After you choose your menu & move to pay, there will be a
section to add comments. Type in "Granby Newcomers Group."
We will receive $10 for every person who completes a session of 36-71
servings, & $20 for every session over 72 servings. The NOV. menu
is different, so you can choose to do one or the other, or both. And bring
friends!

The
Granby Newcomers and Neighbors Club was established in 1970 for
the purpose of welcoming new people to the community in a warm and
friendly manner. Since that time, the group has expanded to include
established as well as new women of Granby and the surrounding
area. It has helped to increase the resources that are available
around town. Social activities are available to members spouses
and children.
Membership meetings are usually held the second Thursday of each
month during the school year (the club is off in June, July and
August). Membership dues are $25 annually. Anyone interested in
joining the Club may attend two meetings to become informed about
the club without being charged dues; however, dues must be paid
for continued participation after those two meetings. Join anytime
of the year (dues are pro-rated
to reflect your join date).
Granby Newcomers is a social organization for women that is heavily
dependent upon its members for success. The more effort members
put into the Club, the more benefits everyone can reap from it.
The Club is non-profit and annually donates proceeds from its fundraisers
to various Granby organizations. Please join us for lots of fun
its a great way to meet others in the community!
